I have represented the Windsor-1 district at the Vermont House of Representatives for the last six years— and now I’m gearing up to run for the Vermont Senate.
If you’re like me, you are frustrated by political machines: they assume where you stand without nuance; they level down instead of leveling up; they take decisions on your behalf without fully understanding the implications for working class people; they create surface-level changes that don’t dig down and address root causes. This is what called me to public service.
I am not a performer and never have been; like many people I was blinded by anxiety the first time I spoke up before a group of people. Over the years, my voice has gotten stronger as I have grown more accustomed to speaking out and to my own candor as it has grown.
Vermont is at several crossroads— we know this. Education, healthcare, housing, jobs, and economic stability all hang in the balance. How can we tip it all in the right direction, while preserving decency and honoring individual dignity?
This campaign is about truth, inclusion, creating together and realizing where our potential could take us, and working to empower Vermont’s people and communities who get left out or just plain sidelined. Every one of us has the right to live a decent life and have their needs met. I’m here to help us get that.
